2007/08 Season League Winners

Updated 30-June-08

Congratulations to Greens on winning the Senior Cup Final against Maroons. At half-time Maroons were leading 3-1 but in the second half the Greens came back into the game to make it 3-2. This spurred on the whole team and the equaliser followed shortly. Greens then took the lead and extended it to 5-3 before Maroons were able to respond. A fourth Maroons goal with about 5 minutes left made for a tense finish but Greens held on to win 5-4. Trophies were presented by the Chairman, Mike Arnaouti.

Congratulations to Greens on winning the Senior League, Whites the Intermediate League and Reds the Junior League. NOW Dark Blues won the School End Division in 7-A-Side and Greens won the Tudor End Division.

The inaugural Plate Competition was won by Celts who defeated CarterBells Blue Knights 1 - 0. The only goal being scored by Declan Cole which was his first of the season - not a bad time to score one's first goal in a final.

Kit for Africa

Updated 15-Mar-08

Once again any unclaimed lost sports property will be sent to the Kit for Africa charity..

The last kit sent was used by a local Little League in Kampala, Uganda, and Christmas (2005) went down a storm when handed out to street kids within the little league. The latest country to benefit will be Ghana and we hope to receive some photographs in due course.

If you have lost any kit, please contact your League co-ordinator or one of managers in order to claim it back. Otherwise it will be going to a worthy cause.
